I do have a couple alternate shopping suggestions however. It depends a great deal on where you want to put it in your house and how long you want to be shopping for one.
First of all, these pieces of furnture are made from particle board and plastic laminate. They are utilitarian and will last a couple years and even long if you're really careful with them. The "skin" is easily damaged which exposes the particle-board and that's not very pretty. It's also hard to paint the "skin" because it is basically plastic and paint doesn't stick too well. I have NOT tried the new "plastic-bonding" paint so those may work.
Now, where to find them.... Thrift stores get these peices of furniture dontated all the time. As a matter of fact, you may get really really lucky and find a piece of furniture that actually serves the purpose you're looking for, AND looks nice. It might even be made of real wood and that means you can refinish it and do some decorating like on all those TV shows where they pull junk out of the garbage and remodel a house.
You might even do a little gargage-sale/yard/sale hunting. Either way, you need to have some patience as well as a little luck. You have to be in the right place at the right time.
I was passing in front of a neighbors house a few years ago and noticed a lot of "older" cabintes tossed out on the front lawn. For an hour's worth of work, he let me have as many of the cabinets as I wanted.... and the countertop. I ended up with an entire wall of my basement with cabintes! It was great.
