What is needed to start a wine bar in New York City?

I have no idea whatsoever, any information would be helpful. Its just a dream for now, but we all need to start somewhere.

A liquor license is a lot harder to get than a beer and wine license. This is the type of license that supermarkets have so that they can sell beer and wine, but not necessarily hard liquor. You would have to higher an attorney to set up a corporation anyway so when you do that, ask him/her to apply for a beer and wine license. This type of license costs a lot less than a liquor license as well. The only problem is you wouldn't be able to sell anything other than beer or wine. If that's ok, then it's probably your best bet.
